Lorraina Dabney turns her back on her creativity and tumultuous upbringing to embark on a college career that will lead her to law school and to becoming what she values most in life—a controlled, powerful, respected woman. When she stumbles upon her childhood friend's artwork, she feels inspired to reconnect with him and her former self. This onslaught of emotion will send Lorraina in a tale-spin to figure out exactly why she abandoned all that she was, all that she could've been.
Coming from his own chaotic upbringing, Michael falls quickly and deeply in love with Lorraina at a tender age. Even her rejection can't stand in the way of his obsession. When she starts to date other boys, however, Michael finally relents, causing him to spiral further into a world filled with violence, drugs, alcohol, and women. Realizing this lifestyle will only lead to his further estrangement from Lorraina, Michael sets about to turn himself around before going to get his girl.
Michael Bang will have Lorraina questioning everything.
“Me too.” He reaches out and places his hand on top of mine on the railing and moves down to my stair. I turn until my back grazes the rail. The light touch of it and his hand and his breath have my body singing. My eyes widen and I swallow hard. I look up at him and am elated to see these same things reflected in his eyes. I give a shaky laugh. His other hand comes up to finger the little pewter cross at my neck.
“You’re wearing my cross,” he states. “I didn’t think you had it anymore.”
“I didn’t get rid of everything. I’m so glad. This has come to mean so much to me.” He leans his forehead on mine.
“Mmm…Lorraina,” he murmurs. “This is crazy.” He grasps the back of my head in his palm and pulls my forehead to his lips and kisses it, then my cheek, next my other cheek, finally my mouth. He slants his mouth over mine and moves his lips in a lazy, sinuous way. Like he has all day to stand there and kiss me. I stamp down my impatience to devour him and go with the flow."
Why keep it all a secret?! I don’t understand! I get so mad at Lorraina (and you) for not telling anyone about them.
Haha!! Well… They do tell Elise and a few of Michael’s friends, though. But you’re probably referring to their families, and they are so screwy and chock full of drama. Lorraina and Michael both are striving for a drama-free existence. And Lorraina’s mom has already expressed her displeasure about her dating while she’s in school since Lorraina doesn’t have the best track record with guys. Bottom line…They really just yearn for a little something for themselves in this world that is peaceful and untainted.
Your top five smutty words that are instant mood killers?
Moist (Only use for kitchen scenes involving things that actually should, in fact, be moist.), Sex (Umm…It shouldn’t be used to describe those parts, EVER.), mound (Makes me think of a candy bar.), taco warmer (I don’t know that I’ve ever actually read this, but a friend of mine recently suggested as a synonym for a particular body part as a joke and it cracked me up.), joy stick (Kidding, I’ve never read that one.)
Star Wars or Star Trek?
Choice there is none.
We’ve all had dates from hell tell us about yours?
After going Dutch to dinner (real classy), a guy took for me a round of miniature golf. Me in heels and a skirt. It rained. I was not happy. Hmm…Then, he was bitter when I met someone. When I married that someone, he had the nerve to tell my mom that he gave us a year! Ugh! I’m still married to that someone…16 beautiful years later. My husband threatens to take me on a replica of this date all the time to commemorate our anniversary, stating that if not for that horrible date he may not have been able to woo me. Aww…
Duh… ;D
What is the first thing you notice about the opposite sex?
Eyes…My husband has to-die-for eyes and eyelashes and boy does he use them to his advantage.
Favorite book and author?
All time…Gone with the Wind, Margaret Mitchell… Contemporary…Thoughtless, S.C. Stephens
If you could have one super power for a day what would it be?
Hmm…Invisibility. Oh the shenanigans and inappropriateness I would be involved in.
Grammar. Always grammer. ßBahaha!!! I’m not perfect, but it still drives me nuts!
Spending all day long in my pj’s reading a great book!
Caleb. Caleb forever! I’ve never been so repulsed by another character (besides UnDeniable’s Deuce), but CJ Roberts completely turns that around on me and proceeds to wring every bit of sympathy I have so that I adore Caleb. She forces to me care about him, root for him, love him, and anticipate his Epilogue!
"Now, these are very silly little boots, Jones. And this is a very silly little dress. And, um, these are—fuck me, absolutely enormous pants. ~Daniel" Bridget Jones’s Diary No joke…I crack up every single time I hear it. When I think of the movie, this gem springs to mind every time!
I’ve renamed your blog in my head…Every time I think of it or read it, I call it “If These Boobs Could Blog”!
